Three things happen in the blink of an eye every time someone opens a secured website.
Websites get a public and private key after acquiring an SSL certificate. When someone visits, their browser requests the public key to verify the site’s identity.
Once verified, the browser generates two symmetric keys and sends one, encrypted with the public key, to the web server. The server decrypts it with its private key, and from then on the browser and server share an encrypted connection to transfer information safely.
A site with SSL installed shows a padlock icon and an HTTPS prefix in the address bar. Depending on the certificate type, site owners can also display a site seal to increase trust.

Certificates are valid for one year. We email you 30, 14 and 7 days before expiry, and if you enable auto-renew we reissue and reinstall it for you so the padlock never disappears. If you are not happy, contact us within 30 days of purchase for a full refund, provided the certificate has not been reissued more than once.
